Scottish Freemasonry
Although there are many fascinating links between English and Scottish Freemasonry, there’s little doubting that Scottish Freemasonry has significantly more antient roots than anything established in England. Below are some images from a trip to the Edinburgh Masonic Centre including Robert Burns’ signature in the “signing in” book:
When time allows, we plan an update including details of the Kilwinning Lodge, also known as Lodge Mother Kilwinning, which is the Masonic Lodge in Kilwinning, Scotland, designated number “0” on the roll of the Grand Lodge of Scotland. It is often referred to as “nothing” rather than zero and is considered by many to be the oldest lodge not only in Scotland but also in the world as many of the Lodges formed even as long ago as the 1500’s pay homage to “Lodge Mother Kilwinning”.
