Dear Applicant,

Subsequent to your recent interview, when your Proposer put you forward as a Candidate for the Lodge Membership, we are pleased to confirm that you have now formally been proposed for membership of the Loyal Vacation Lodge (Number 6209). Subject to confirmation of your initiation date and subsequent Lodge ballot, you will be initiated into the ‘secrets and mysteries’ of Freemasonry and it is planned that this will take place at the Wiveliscombe Masonic Centre, The Masonic Hall, Station Road, Wiveliscombe TA4 2LT.

This will be the first of three ceremonies needed to make you a Master Mason. Unless you have been advised to the contrary, the meeting at which you are due to be initiated is scheduled to start at 18:00 hrs.

Please arrive at least fifteen minutes before the start time and unless you have made other arrangements, you will be met at the main entrance by your Proposer who will escort you to the Lodge room in which we will be meeting and also introduce you to our ‘Tyler’ who will look after you until we are ready to admit you.

The dress code for the meeting is quite strict and comprises a dark suit (preferably black or dark grey), white shirt and black tie, black shoes and socks, you will also need to provide yourself with a pair of white (cotton) gloves. Your proposer can advise here. Please avoid wearing any metallic items or at least make sure they are easily and safely removable. Irremovable wedding bands and body jewelry are not a problem.

At this stage you will not need any regalia as this will be provided for you. Please bring a cheque for approx £150-00 for initiation (this is a one-off ‘registration’ fee), a cheque to cover your Annual Subscription (this fee is calculated pro rata) and also payment for dining on the night for around £30, plus some cash for the Alms, Charity and drinks at the bar!

If you have any friends and family who are already Freemasons, then if you would like them to attend, just let our Secretary know using the contact form here.

Finally, on behalf of the Lodge, I look forward to welcoming you, feeling assured that you will have many happy and enjoyable times with us and become a valued member of our fraternity.

Should you have any further questions, then please do not hesitate to contact your proposer, seconder or the Secretary or Membership Officer. May I also ask that when you are advised of the date, you to confirm that you will be able to attend.

You will have been asked to complete your application on a paper form (Form P). Be assured that as with all information captured on this site, all information is dealt with under strict General Data Protection Regulations.
