Links between the Grand Lodge of Scotland and the two English Grand Lodges

History clearly shows the Grand Lodge of Scotland’s strong links with English Grand Lodges; initially with the Moderns, but after 1751 when the Antients were formed, to the Newly formed Grand Lodge This indicates a switch in administrative control from Scotland to England.

This is envinced by three Scottish Grand Masters subsequently being appointed Grand Master of the Moderns prior to the formation and later, three of the Grand Masters of the Antients subsequently (and concurrently) being appointed Grand Master of Scotland:
