Use of the Evacuation Chair

The Centre has an “Evacusafe” Evacuation Chair which is located at the top of the staircase and kept covered with a blue canvas cover. This facility allows anyone with limited mobility to be assisted to leave the temple using the stairs as, in the event of a fire, power to the chair lift is removed and it is rendered inoperational for safety reasons.

We would encourage every member to familiarise themselves with the chair and further, to learn how to use the chair as one day, someone’s life could depend on your knowledge.
